Many cross channel operators from the UK and Ireland are available with excellent value sailings if booked well in advance.
The longer 'western' crossings offer the shortest driving distance to our cottages with the approximate driving time from St Malo (4 hours); Caen (4.5 hours) and Le Havre (5 hours); Cherbourg (5.5 hours) and Roscoff (5.5 hours) with Calais, Boulogne and Dunkerque 7 – 8 hours. With the traffic around Paris, travelling via Rouen is generally quicker.

From the Channel Ports of Dunkerque, Boulogne and Calais to our region take the A28 Rouen and Tours route and then the A10 motorway. We tend to exit the autoroute at Poitiers South (junction 30) then take the departmental road via Lusignan and Matha. Alternatives are to exit at Niort South (junction 33) and go cross country via Chizé or St Jean d’Angèly (junction 34) - follow the D950 towards Poitiers and exit at Aulnay and follow the route to Néré.
From Paris follow routing towards Bordeaux via Tours and Poitiers.
